Print Inspiration

You probably know, wallpaper is making a comeback. Designers are creating some truly inspiring prints. Here are some of my favorites.

An outline painting on vintage wallpaper from the artist Dallas Shaw. I love the mix of old and new, the layered effect and the dichotomy it creates. I could see using this layered effect (particularly a painted outline) with any of the below print directions. It creates amazing possibilities.

There are a lot of designers playing with toile. This one is Sheila Bridges "Harlem Toile de Jouy". I could see a fun "snow" toile for linings or a reversible Down style.

Foils are intriguing. Perhaps over the top, but fun to contemplate how they could be used in a truly wearable print. This one from Woodson & Rummerfield's by Florence Broadhurst. By the way, when you have time to kill, check out http://www.wandrdesign.com. They are "High Style" interior designers in LA. Super fun.
Another foil, this one from Graham & Brown. (http://www.grahambrown.com) This is just a pretty print, with or without the foil.

OK, the color is a bit much, but toned down it could be interesting. This, again, is from Woodson & Rummerfield's.
Check out Ferm Living for beautiful prints inspired from nature. http://www.ferm-living.com
I love the shadow prints at Ferm Living.
This print from Graham & Brown is inspiring for it's simplicity and wearability.

Next I'll check out some Kids prints. Will have that up next week sometime.
